POOP

19 – 22 October 2017 / Victoria Theatre

“When is life worth living; when is death worth celebrating?”

Poop chronicles the aftermath of a suicide: A GRANDMOTHER bargains with divine powers to release her SON’S soul from hell. Failing which, she brings him home; she takes over the reins of bringing up her GRANDDAUGHTER, while keeping her DAUGHTER-IN-LAW at bay, saving the GRANDDAUGHTER all for herself.

Set against an all-too-familiar urban backdrop of fast food restaurants, underground trains, verdant pastures, and SBS buses, these personal fantasies of the afterlife are challenged once more when her GRANDDAUGHTER contracts a terminal illness.

How will the family cope with the burden of death past and present?

Starring: Jean Ng, Janice Koh, Neo Swee Lin, Julius Foo, Ang Hui Bin

Director/Playwright: Chong Tze Chien

Lighting Designer: Lim Woan Wen

Sound Designer: Darren Ng
